I've read through the terms of Newgrounds and I've noticed some problems. It says users are not allowed to upload to the site if the music they have made was produced in Soundation. I produce almost all my music in soundation so I decided to look into the specific terms that stop this. After talking about the stock loops rule, the terms go on to say "Soundation and you.dj have similar issues where you do not retain full rights to the music you create using these services".

This is false.

I have read through the terms and conditions of soundation, and nowhere does it say that soundation owns your music in any way.

Some users pointed me to section 5 of the soundation licensing agreement. This states that "You can not transfer the sound files electronically or via any peer to peer file sharing program, FTP site, service bureau operation, DRS, computer network or in any way not expressly allowed by Soundation AB". Confused about these terms, I decided to reach out to the Soundation team to help clarify the terms.

I got a response that I think clears the waters on how soundation should be treated on this site:

I was wondering if this changes anything.

Maybe the rules need changing or revising.

Even though I use none of the samples soundation provides, (making my music perfectly within the TOS) the rules set in the Newgrounds terms affect me simply because I use the "wrong studio".

I hope this has an effect or at least gets the attention of a moderator/admin/employee.
